Laser Vision

Blouse & Belt: J. Crew, Pants: Target; Shoes: F21;

I went to Target the other day to buy my hubs some socks, when all the sudden, my laser-like vision caught these awesome maroon, cloudy print pants. I immediately snatched them up and now want to wear them with everything! They're perfect for fall, I can't wait to pair them with all things maroon and fun fall prints :)

Just loving vintage and reinvented bed jackets!

Hubby's parents are coming to town this weekend - therefore I need to clean the entire apartment and stock the fridge with healthy food so it looks like I take good care of him. So yeah, forgive me if I become a little MIA.

Thirsting for Thursday...the cold shoulder

I love this versatility of this look - seen anywhere from elegant glam to street style - the cut out shoulder is a great way to update your wardrobe. Plus, it's a super easy DIY project for an old oxford button down or long sleeve tee.
Although, I must admit, when I first pulled out a pair of scissors to create my own bare shoulder shirt I couldn't help but think of that part in the movie 'Mean Girls' when it became trendy to snip off a little hole around the breast area of your shirt!

Okay, sorry for the side note, that movie is pretty hilarious, but this look is much better, I promise!

I can't wait to DIY some more cold shoulders!

Make Do

Thrifting for vintage is fun - you can find amazing, unique pieces you can't get anywhere else. A lot of people have a problem with sizing though - they won't take the time to thrift because "what is the likelihood of finding something that is amazing and just my size?" ( I hear this ALL the time). Well, you know what...you're probably right, you may not find tons of things exactly your size...but you know what I say to that...MAKE DO! Paper bag your skirts and trousers, cuff those pants, roll up those sleeves, belt, tie, clip, snap, sew! I mean, that's what makes styling fun anyway!

Here are a few examples of me making it do with items that weren't quite my size:

It truly is amazing what you can do. BTW - slouchy is in, so look for those sweaters one size too big!

Happy Wednesday, it's almost Halloween!!! :o) Can't wait to share pictures of our party!
