Dare me

Coat - I.N.C.; Skirt, Blouse - F21; Sweater - J.Crew
Belt, Clutch - Vintage; Tights - DKNY; Shoes - UO

Working in Washington, DC, I always wondered about wearing a leather (or in this case, faux leather) skirt to work. People tend to stick to black and grey wool blend suits in the city, and leather seems to COMPLETELY deviate from this ideal. BUT I LOVE THE LOOK OF LEATHER. So, dare me to push the professional attire envelope, and I'll make a compromise :) I wore a longer length, leatherette skirt with a more conservative top. I played around with my cardigan and settled on buttoning the top two buttons (I used to think this look wasn't for me, but in this case I adore how it frames the collar on my blouse). I paired this look with one of my favorite vintage belts, and my mint green, suede booties :)

I dare you to wear something out of the ordinary, let me know what you come up with :)

Trendy Vintage!

One reason I ADORE vintage so much is because it is super unique, and it is super fun to style! I, like any other woman who loves fashion also appreciates trends and the fun in making them your own. Vintage does this! Here are a few pieces I have found that work so well in this seasons trends.

1) Primary Plaid

2) Unique Knits

3) Red, Red, Red!

4) Midi Skirts

Fashion is fun! :o) There's plenty more where this came from, these are just a few of my current favs!

Mucho Love on this Monday!!

My 5 favorite fall fashion trends

These are my 5 favorite fashion trends for fall!

(1) Bright colored pants:

These pants add so much instant glam to an ordinary outfit. Swap out your denim and black for some flavorful trousers! Mustard Yellow, Rust and Royal Blue are three of my favorite colors!

(2) Midi Skirts:

This length was a no-no for a long time, but with the right porportions and style, the midi-skirt can beat the maxi! I absolutely love the midi skirt because it allows for more styling options. In the fall and winter, layer it with textured tights and ankle booties. Add a cute vintage blouse, and a flouncy jacket...and you'll be walking your own runway :o)

(3) Chunky, Textured, Unique Sweaters:

A chunky sweater is a great way to play up or down the mixed prints trend. I love mixing my summery floral dresses with chunky knits, tights and boots for fall!

(4) Leather Skirts (or shorts!):

Play up your inner rocker child with the new leather skirt. (just don't make it a mini leather skirt). I love the bell and a-line shape. Add a cute knit and some boots.

(5) Vintage Inspired Day Dresses:
(All photos courtesy of style.com)
Being in the vintage world, of course this is one of my FAVORITE trends! Glam up your work place with 70s inspired day dresses. Remember bold patterns and bright colors! You can mute the dress with socks and booties for fall. <3 this!!

I'm suuuuuppppper excited for fall! TONS of awesome chunky sweaters and vintage dresses will be added to the shop regularly, so stay tuned :o)

Just ask nicely

I stumbled upon some of the cutest vintage shoes this past weekend and posted them to LBVie. This woman at the estate sale had these tapestry flats in her hand, and I literally followed her around the entire house 16 times waiting for her to set them down, and look at something else, so I could SNATCH them up! haha jk, I pretty much just begged for them, then she gave them to me. I realized there was no way in H-E double hockey sticks I would fit my size 9 foot in these size 8 shoes...so here you go. LOVELY UBER TRENDY FLORAL TAPESTRY FLATS for a lucky size 8 :o)

I also found these darling red leather shooting star flats, an awesome pair of leather braided Huaraches, and a REALLY awesome pair of vintage Ralph Lauren Caramel Tan Leather Riding Boots!

Mucho XOXOXO
