I met Katherine for a quick little business lunch the other day - well actually it wasn't so quick. When we get together, the ideas start flowing and there is no stopping us! (Until I look at the clock and realize I've been gone for far longer than an hour)...shh.

What a wonderful Easter weekend - we had a fun shoot introducing LPM's new denim line:

I also spent some quality time with the hubs, which included multiple Starbucks trips, too many sweets and a nice, long leisurely stroll through the park. Those tulips were so, so pretty - it took everything inside of me to resist plucking my own bouquet! I think I even bent down in an attempt to "smell" them and Steven had to run over and grab me before they ended up in my purse! Ooops!

Here's to bunnies, believers, tulips and denim!

Dare me

Working in Washington, DC, I always wondered about wearing a leather (or in this case, faux leather) skirt to work. People tend to stick to black and grey wool blend suits in the city, and leather seems to COMPLETELY deviate from this ideal. BUT I LOVE THE LOOK OF LEATHER. So, dare me to push the professional attire envelope, and I'll make a compromise :) I wore a longer length, leatherette skirt with a more conservative top. I played around with my cardigan and settled on buttoning the top two buttons (I used to think this look wasn't for me, but in this case I adore how it frames the collar on my blouse). I paired this look with one of my favorite vintage belts, and my mint green, suede booties :)

I dare you to wear something out of the ordinary, let me know what you come up with :)

Almost a Spring Day

I found this amazing ombre, semi-sheer shirt dress on my most recent vintage excursion in Pennsylvania. I couldn't resist the beautiful pattern and lovely, light, flowy fabric. This nice weather is definitely making me pull out my light fabrics and bright colors earlier than usual...but I'm not complaining, I love the sun! :)

Although......I must admit, NYFW has me craving cold weather! I'm loving the novelty prints and collars at Derek Lam, the velvet at Rachel Zoe, the amazing structured coats at Joseph Altuzarra, the bowtie blouses at Kaelen, and the feminine dresses at DKNY

**Funny story: Someone at work told me they couldn't get near me wearing this dress, for fear they would get paint all over them....

Update on life:

1) I dyed my huaaiiirr, everyone says it looks the same, but I see the difference, and I like it :)

2) Just found out my all time favorite band is coming here in April...can't wait Lovedrug!!

3) Katherine is headed to NYFW tomorrow!!! :o)) Say hi to her if you see her!

4) Hubby is going to audition for some local productions - Good Luck!

5) I'm eating massive quantities of sourdough bread, its just so yummy

6) Just found out I'm allergic to the proteins in egg whites, bummer :(

7) Business is wonderful, the store has lots of new awesome items

8) Winter will be over soon but I NEED these A-Wang booties

9) We're headed to San Fran and PDX in the coming months

This dress single-handedly put me in a such a good mood yesterday. I mean honestly, who can resit anything tribal print with pretty colors, intricate beading and such a fun hem line? - I know I can't! Katherine and I originally purchased this dress as an oversize, ill-fitting piece from the 80s -- but with a little snip snip here, and a tweak, tweak there, we made a masterpiece :o) You can find this dress for sale in our store
