Pretty Tough

Dress: La Petite Marmoset; Belt: Vintage
Shoes: F21; Sunnies: UO

This dress is the perfect statement piece to take me from work to play, dinner and Sunday brunch. I'm digging mixing my girly dresses with tough accessories. Gotta give off the bad-ass vibe every now and again :p

Vacay

Pants: F21; Blouse: Buffalo Exchange; Sunnies: UO; Shoes: Franco Sarto

This was the last outfit post from Washington, DC. Steven and I headed to San Francisco last weekend and now are the wonderful land of Portlandia :)

Our trip is finally settling down - we've been through some CRAZY-NESS! posts/explinations coming soon. I don't know what has been worse: the 14 hour layover in Milwaukee, WI from our cancelled flight, the mob fight/highly illegal drugs/weapons seen at San Fran's Pride Parade After Party or my six-day-old phone breaking on me and leaving me helpless and phoneless! :(

Its okay, things are on the upside :) We're headed to Mt. Hood for some real R&R; will then spend some time in downtown Portland and also at the coast.
Cheers to Vacay!

Hot Hot Heat

Dress worn as blouse, belt and clutch: La Petite Marmoset; Shorts: F21;
Bracelets: Vintage; Shoes: Joe's c/o Solestruck; Sunnies: UO

'Hot' is seriously an understatement for the weather last weekend. It was HOT as you-know-what! I wanted nothing more but to wear short shorts and an easy breezy top. I love this super cute dress from LPM - here it is worn as a blouse, and stay tuned to see it styled as a dress in our Summer Lookbook :)

Speaking of...we shot our Summer Lookbook this weekend! It was so awesome seeing Katherine's brilliant theme come to fruition. Our amazing team beared the over-the-top heat to create one HOT lookbook! :) xx

Happy Monday

Cookie Monster

Crop Top: La Petite Marmoset, Skirt: J.Crew, Bracelet & Bag: Vintage, Shoes & Sunnies: UO

The other day, Katherine and I took a daring stroll through the plethora of food trucks - I (of course) quickly halted at the "Captain Cookie" truck -
**Note to self: Crop tops and cookies don't mix!

Dare me

Coat - I.N.C.; Skirt, Blouse - F21; Sweater - J.Crew
Belt, Clutch - Vintage; Tights - DKNY; Shoes - UO

Working in Washington, DC, I always wondered about wearing a leather (or in this case, faux leather) skirt to work. People tend to stick to black and grey wool blend suits in the city, and leather seems to COMPLETELY deviate from this ideal. BUT I LOVE THE LOOK OF LEATHER. So, dare me to push the professional attire envelope, and I'll make a compromise :) I wore a longer length, leatherette skirt with a more conservative top. I played around with my cardigan and settled on buttoning the top two buttons (I used to think this look wasn't for me, but in this case I adore how it frames the collar on my blouse). I paired this look with one of my favorite vintage belts, and my mint green, suede booties :)

I dare you to wear something out of the ordinary, let me know what you come up with :)
xoxoxo,
Ashley
