Every year, as summer approaches I start dreading swimsuit season. I seriously cannot stand to see another woman wearing a triangle string bikini, drab, terry cloth, strapless swimsuit cover, and $1 Old Navy flip flops. I understand there is a time and place for everything, but just because we are going to the pool, or beach, or whatever, doesn't mean our sense of fashion has to come to a screeching halt. There are so many ways to be chic at the beach, starting with an uber cool swimsuit cover.
I think the problem with swimsuit cover-ups is just that...it doesn't have to be a 'swimsuit cover-up.' I typed 'Swimsuit cover-up' into google and came up with the same boring terry cloth strapless things. Think outside the box! Here is what I will be wearing over my swimsuits this season, and no, none of them are labeled 'Swimsuit Cover-ups'
Vintage Floral Brushstroke Rayon Blazer, $28 LBVie
Swim Romper, Urban Outfitters, $34
Kimono, Top Shop, $100
Crochet Tunic, Topshop, $60
Tent, Slouch, Star Zip-up, LBVie $24
Feather Dress, Top Shop $55
All of these beauty's can easily be worn to the beach! Pair them with a statement necklace and bright platforms, you've got yourself some serious beach fashion!
Vintage Statement Necklace. 1930s Heavy Bib. Bells, $120 Pinguim on Etsy
Jeffrey Campbell Frank Red Leather Rainbow Platform Sandals, $99 LuLu's
Vintage 1960s Italian Suede Rust Color Peeptoe Platform Sandals, $58 LBVie
Start with a cool cover-up and looking chic on the beach has never been easier! I am still looking for the perfect retro inspired swimsuit...but I currently have my eye on a few :)
In a Daze-y Two Piece, Modcloth $89.99
Beach Fireworks Swimsuit, Modcloth, $119
